Nighttime is sleeptime

Watching Bringing home baby and a 'sleep specialist' visits the family to help set up a sleep routine for the new baby and the 2 yr old big sister. The sleep specialist suggests at 6-8 weeks to put the baby down when she is drowsy (or awake) so she can learn the skill of falling asleep without assistance. I have been trying it especially after the night time feedings since 4 weeks. It seems she is getting the hang of things. We also started a bedtime routine. It seems the right time. It may be a little early but it can't hurt and she seems to enjoy it. Around 7 she eats and Logan let's her sleep on his chest.  She usually wakes up 9-9:30 we feed her give her a bath and then Logan reads to her. Currently the book of choice is The Hobbit. He lays her down and he reads till she falls asleep. The combo of warm bath and dads voice seems to knock her out. That first leg of the night she sleeps the longest. Before I thought routines were for toddlers. I thought infants always did want they want. But she seems to learn fast. Wonder if she thinks the same about me...
